About Sarah.

Sarah is a founder and the managing partner of Peacock Piper Tong + Voss LLP.  Sarah has practiced law for over 23+ years. Sarah has acted as outside general counsel for clients in many industries, which has given her experience in a wide breadth of transactional and litigation matters. By developing an understanding of her clients’ businesses, Sarah offers more efficient solutions, suited to her clients’ commercial needs.  Sarah has had the pleasure of representing a broad range of middle market and larger companies, as well as smaller start-up companies.

Sarah is a member of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and was recognized as a California “Rising Star” from 2004 – 2009. A proud resident of Long Beach, California, Sarah has been involved in her community for many years. Currently, she serves on the Long Beach Boy Scout Council Board of Directors and the Mayor’s Fund for Education. She previously served on the board of Musical Theatre West and on the Long Beach Parks and Recreation Commission from 2006-2012 before serving as the Chair of the Long Beach Parks and Recreation Commission from 2013-2014. Sarah also served on the board and executive committee of Long Beach Public Corporation for the Arts. An avid sailor, Sarah has competed in the TransPac race from Los Angeles to Honolulu three times. The proud mom of three boys, she rarely finds herself with any quiet time — and enjoys (almost) every minute of it.

Maritime, Marine Terminals + Transportation.

Sarah routinely assists Marine Terminal Operators with a host of legal challenges. Sarah has assisted terminals in negotiating a host of contracts including, terminal lease agreements, rate resets, terminal access and use agreements, tariffs, technology contracts, and various vendor and service agreements. Sarah has been very involved in defending MTOs against regulatory inquiries and litigation involving storm water discharges. Sarah enjoys working with MTOs to develop legal solutions that support their business needs.

Sarah has assisted international commercial ship owners and operators with their transactional needs for many years. Sarah currently works with cruise lines, helping vessels to obtain their liquor licenses when calling at ports throughout the United States. Sarah also assists passenger carriers with their California Public Utilities Commission licenses.
